Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you'll be greeted at the airport by your private guide. From there, a private car will take you to Negombo, a major city on the west coast, just about 30 minutes away.

Negombo's appeal lies in its convenient location near the Bandaranaike International Airport, making it a favored spot for travelers. The city boasts long beaches bordered by resorts, hotels, and seafood restaurants, catering to beach enthusiasts. Don't miss the vibrant Negombo Fish Market, where the lively exchange of fresh seafood takes place.

After checking in, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Explore its significant archaeological sites, including colossal stupas and the Sacred Fig tree, Sri Maha Bodhi, associated with Lord Buddha's enlightenment.

Day 5 Trincomalee

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then visit Koneswaram Temple and Trincomalee Beach.

Koneswaram Kovil, also known as the Koneswaram Temple or Thirukonamalai Konesar Temple, is a Hindu temple located in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. It is one of the Pancha Ishwarams, five important Shiva temples spread across the island. Situated atop Swami Rock overlooking the Indian Ocean, the temple provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Despite facing destruction, particularly during the Portuguese colonial period in the 17th century, the temple was later rebuilt and stands today as a reconstruction.

Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 7 Yala

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Then you'll head to Yala National Park and enjoy 4X4 Jeep Safari  ( Approximately 3 hours)

Yala’s arid boulder-scattered parklands are dramatically different from the lush jungles and paddy fields that cover so much of the island. Spanning 100,000 hectares of dry thorny scrub and dusty glades, you could easily be in an African bushveldt, right down to the long-thorn bushes. This background was so suited to viewing elephants, leopards, wild boar, spotted deer, crocodiles and jackals that the entrepreneurial South African Englebrecht, who was shipped over as a POW after the Boer War, rightfully instigated it as a sanctuary – Sri Lanka’s first – at the turn of the twentieth century. It’s now the oldest and most prominent of them all.

To guarantee your safety and pleasure, each walk is accompanied by one of our safari experts who are knowledgeable about the area and its fascinating sights. During our 1 hour nature strolls, our seasoned rangers will guide you into the depths of a nearby historical cave, where you will hear about its rich history and the treasures it once held.

Overnight stay in Yala at Chena Huts by Uga in a Cabin with Pool.

Enjoy breakfast at the resort.

Then you'll head to Colombo (approximately 4 hours travel time).

Embark on a Colombo City and Shopping Tour, exploring landmarks like the iconic Gangaramaya Temple, a significant Buddhist site known for its diverse architectural influences. The temple is not just a place of worship but also a cultural and educational center, featuring intricate carvings and a sacred Bodhi tree. After the tour, return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Explore the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Colombo while indulging in some shopping.

Overnight stay in Colombo at Uga Residence in a Park Suite.

Our motto for Independent Holiday Packages is start your holiday when and with who you want!

Our Independent Holiday Packages are NOT group tours with set departure dates. Group Tours have specific set departure dates, and of course, you are travelling with unknown passengers in a coach. At Entire Travel Group, our focus is Independent Holiday Packages. Available daily, they are pre-designed, purpose built, packaged itineraries full of memorable experiences delivered by our hand-picked local partners.

Our holidays suit every demographic, from couples to singles, to retirees to families and everyone else in between.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.

For more information please visit - Before you travel | Entire Travel Group
