Sri Lanka used to be the centre of the spice trade during ancient times and known for an abundance of flavours combined into their traditional meals that would truly satiate ones taste buds. This 9-day private escorted package includes a visit to the bustling fish market of Negombo, then witness a variety of wildlife at Minneriya National Park by an exciting jeep safari.
Discover Kandy's authentic healthy cuisine by following the food trail. A visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic is not to be missed plus the cultural performance in the evening. Day 1 Airport Negombo
Arrival in Sri Lanka / Meet & Greet at the airport where you will meet your private guide.
You will then proceed to Negombo in your private car (approximately 30 minutes travel time) and check in at the resort. Later in the afternoon Explore the fishing Village and evening enjoy a BBQ Cooking session (Approx 2 hrs) (Type of spices and cooking methods differ from one location to the other).
Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Overnight stay in Negombo at Heritance Negombo in a Deluxe Room.
Day 2 Negombo Sigiriya
Enjoy breakfast at the resort.
You'll head to Sigiriya (approximately 4 hours travel time). You'll then proceed to the beautiful Sigiriya Rock Fortress. It is consists of 1200 steps. The first part of the visit is a leisurely walk through the pleasure gardens. Then one starts to climb. There are two areas where one can take a break on the way up. The entire duration of the experience takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the speed at which you want to climb. Check in at the resort and enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure.

Day 3 Sigiriya Hiriwadunna Sigiriya
Enjoy breakfast before a fascinating 3-hour Sri Lankan village experience in Hiriwadunna. The journey includes a boat ride, tractor tour through paddy fields, and visits to plantations showcasing traditional farming. Along the way, savor refreshing stops for fruit slices and herbal drinks. End the tour with a cooking demonstration and a hearty meal served on lotus leaves.

Day 4 Sigiriya Passikudah
Start your day with breakfast at the resort. Following that, make your way to Passikudah, a charming coastal area about a 2-hour and 30-minute drive away.

After the snorkelling experience, enjoy a delectable traditional Sri Lankan lunch featuring fresh seafood with picturesque ocean views. Day 6 Passikudah Kandy
Enjoy breakfast at the resort.
Then travel for 4 hours heading to Kandy - a UNESCO World Heritage site. First, you'll visit Sri Dalada Maligawa or also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. The visit typically lasts 1 hour. First you walk towards the temple through the gardens. Your guide will buy you the entrance tickets. We recommend buying a lotus flower right at the entrance – 100 LKR per set. Your guide will walk you through the various chambers explaining the history and significance of the temple.

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.
However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.
We found that many customers may prefer to:
- Travel on a specific airline of their choice
- Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
- Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
- Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
- Use their travel agent for this service
We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.
Should I take travel insurance?
