Day 1 Puerto de la Cruz

Arrival on your own hotel.

After check-in, the rest of the days is at leisure. This evening, let's get together with our fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 Puerto de la Cruz

This morning we will have a short information meeting with our guide at the hotel reception.

There will be a full day to relax and settle into the hotel. Why not get your bearings with a leisurely stroll through Puerto de la Cruz, which has a great selection of bars, restaurants and cafes. Or wander to the beach at Playa Jardin, one of the black lava sand beaches for which the volcanic island of Tenerife is renowned. The choice is yours!

Day 3 Puerto de la Cruz Santa Cruz La Laguna Puerto de la Cruz

Today, we will have a half-day guided excursion to Santa Cruz. Our morning is at leisure. Let’s travel to the famous seaport which is one of Spain's busiest and is the joint capital of the Canary Islands. We will then move on to the UNESCO World Heritage site of La Laguna. Here, we will see its impressive cathedral and the old colonial city architecture.

Day 4 Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife Island Puerto de la Cruz

This morning, let’s begin our journey around the island for a full day's guided excursion. Our first port of call will be the village of Icod de los Vinos on the west coast, which is famous for the Canary Islands Dragon Tree. This subtropical treelike plant is the natural emblem of Tenerife. We will continue to Playa de Las Americas for some free time, with spectacular views en route.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Basilica of Candelaria, to view the famous statue of the Black Madonna and bronze statues of the 'Guanches'. The Guanches were the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands and while it is generally believed that they no longer exist as a distinct ethnicity, many traces of their culture remain.

(Only breakfast and dinner will be included in your hotel on this day).

Savour more of your relaxing holiday in Tenerife with a full day to enjoy at leisure.

Why not take some time to discover other attractions outside the town centre, such as the botanical gardens, which have a large range of tropical and subtropical trees, plants, and flowers. Or simply relax on the beach, enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by in a waterfront cafe.

Day 6 Puerto de la Cruz Mount Tiede Puerto de la Cruz

Today let’s uncover more of the best of Tenerife with a half day guided tour to the volcanic Mount Teide National Park. Dominated by the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide itself, this is a true highlight of any trip to Tenerife. On the way, we will pass through the evergreen valley of La Orotava. The soil here is home to some very rare flora due to the lava flows on the flanks of the mountain.

Next, we will enter the breath-taking National Park of Mount Teide, a lunar landscape filled with fascinating rock formations, hidden caves, and bright volcanic colours. We will then stop at the foot of Mt Teide for a closer look before returning to our hotel.

Please note: altitude sickness does not normally occur below 2400 metres, however, if you are concerned please advise your guide who will be happy to assist you in making alternative arrangements.

On this final day, take some time to relax more and enjoy more of your surroundings.

Why not take a walk to Puerto de la Cruz and shop for some last-minute souvenirs or visit Loro Parque (Parrot Park), which is a theme park and zoo that is amongst the largest in the world.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
