Fly to Yellowknife Airport and transfer to your hotel. After getting settled and fitted into your winter weather clothes , depart with your guide to Aurora Village for your first evening of Aurora viewing! Maligne Canyon Icewalk

The morning is at leisure to explore Lake Louise, then depart Lake Louise and follow the Bow River to Banff. The Bow River was named for the bows that where made by the First Nations People from the shrubs that they collected. Along the way pass by two of the more outstanding landmarks in the region, Castle Mountain (2750m/9022ft) and Mount Temple (3523m/11,558ft).

Lake Louise

This morning you will join a small group tour for the perfect introduction to Banff. The tour includes some of Banff's most scenic and historically significant highlights such as the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner Lookout, and Banff's largest lake, Lake Minnewanka. Plus, enjoy hot chocolate or fresh water (depending on the time of year) and maple cookies at one of the scenic stops.

You'll then be transported to the base of Sulphur Mountain and ride the Banff Gondola to the top at 7,486 feet. Johnston Canyon is one of the most popular attractions in Banff National Park and a tour not to be missed!  Upon arriving at Johnston canyon, you are provided with ice-cleats that make walking on the sometimes icy trail, simple. Hike on a network of steel walkways built into the canyon walls with airy views of the gorge below. Today it's time to say goodbye to the fresh mountain air and majestic sights of the Rockies. Following the Trans Canada Highway to Calgary, you'll travel back through the Great Central Plains that roll to the east for 2,000 kilometres and extend south as far as Mexico.
