Itinerary
Day 1 Rome
Welcome to Rome!
Upon arrival a private driver will transport you to your centrally located hotel.
This evening includes a dinner in a must-visit neighborhood in Rome: Trastevere. It is one of the cores of the Roman nightlife, bustling and busy with pubs, restaurants and clubs for all ages. You will have the opportunity to dine in a typical Roman trattoria and discover culinary traditions dating back in time. No worries: we transfer you to the restaurant and will take care of the reservation! Return to your hotel.
Overnight stay in Rome at Hotel Trevi Collection.
Day 2 Rome
Today a must-see for every traveller who visits Rome: the Colosseum, the symbol of Rome!
You can now take advantage of our exclusive prime service and enjoy this day in the most relaxing way. Wake up in the morning at your centrally located hotel and after breakfast wear a pair of comfortable shoes and wait for our driver to come and pick you up: you’ll reach the archaeological area to join a super-agile small group of less than 10 people.
Once inside, breath the bloody past of the Amphitheater and its atmosphere led by passionate and expert guides. This huge travertine and tuff structure could hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, all hungering for pretty gory shows such as hunting games or gladiatorial fights. The tour includes also a guided walk in the Roman Forum, the cultural and political center of Ancient Rome, as well as a stroll around the Palatine Hill, the area where the city of Rome was legendary founded by Romulus and where the emperors used to live for
centuries.
The remainder of the day is at your disposal to discover Rome on your own, otherwise, you can add in an optional Pizza-Baking Class in Trastevere!
Overnight stay in Rome at Hotel Trevi Collection.
Day 3 Rome
After a rich breakfast, you will meet your driver who will take you to the meeting point with your local foodie guide. You will enjoy a lovely walking tour through local food markets, grocery stores and gelato shops in the areas of Campo De’ Fiori, Trastevere, and the Jewish Ghetto.
We know that walking makes one hungry, that’s why we thought you’d appreciate some pit-stops! You’ll enjoy a slice of freshly baked crispy “Pizza Bianca” (Rome’s own version of focaccia) cut in half horizontally and filled with thin slices of freshly cut “mortadella”: a traditional, more-Roman-than-the-Colosseum easy snack that locals love. And what about trying a “Supplì”? This little ball of deep-fried tomato sauce risotto with a heart of melted mozzarella cheese is everyone’s favorite street food. Pasta will be on the list too, along with some dishes from the Roman Jewish tradition: “Carciofo alla Giudìa”, a deep-fried artichoke that looks like a tiny sunflower, as well as “Filetto di Baccalà”, a battered and deep-fried fleshy cod fillet. Save some space for dessert, because we won’t skip our portion of artisan “Gelato”!
At the end of this experience, meet your driver to head to Vatican area, ready to join a super-agile group of less than 10 people. Meet your professional guide and take a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St.Peter’s Basilica! Admire the Gallery of Tapestries, the Geographical Maps and the beautiful Raphael’s rooms before arriving at the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece! After the Sistine Chapel you will be taken, to St. Peter’s Basilica. At the end of the tour, time at your leisure to discover hidden corners of Rome.
Overnight stay in Rome at Hotel Trevi Collection.
Day 4 Rome
After breakfast, the day is your to stroll down the Capital of Italy.
Alternatively, we suggest to fill your day with a Private tour of Tivoli and its Villas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site outside of Rome.
Overnight stay in Rome at Hotel Trevi Collection.

Day 6 Cruise: Rome Amalfi
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 05:00 PM
The Amalfi Coast has been called the greatest meeting of land and sea on earth. Situated in the Campania region between Sorrento and Salerno, Amalfi and Positano are the two main towns on the world-famous Amalfi Drive - renowned as the most scenic and romantic road in Italy. The road is carved into the side of rocky cliffs plunging into the sparkling sea. Erosion has sculpted the rocky slopes into gargoyle shapes and hollowed out fairy grottoes where the air is tinted turquoise by the glowing blue water below. During the Middle Ages, Amalfi was an independent maritime state with a population of 50,000. The ship compass was invented here in 1302. Approximately 10 miles away from Amalfi is the village of Ravello. An enchanting village with wonderful views and quiet lanes, Ravello boasts romantic gardens surrounding medieval ruins, affording magnificent views of the entire Bay of Salerno.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 7 Cruise: Amalfi Lipari
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 05:00 PM
Lipari is the largest of the seven major islands making up the Aeolian Islands. They were originally named after Aeolus, the mythical god of wind who the ancients believed made his home in a cave here. Recently renamed the Lipari Islands, they were created by volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago and have a primitive rocky beauty accented by Mediterranean greenery. Their natural beauty and easy lifestyle have made the islands increasingly popular for those who wish to escape the modern world and its stresses. The crystal clear aqua-blue waters and the volcanic beaches are some of the most inviting in Italy. Many are inaccessible except by fishermens' boats. An abundance of fish and shell fish makes for some very good restaurants specializing in seafood.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 8 Cruise: Lipari Mgarr (Victoria), Gozo
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 03:00 PM
A port not often visited by cruise ships, being more accustomed to welcoming fishing boats and private yachts. Malta’s smaller sister-isle has a lot of charm to offer. Villages such as Mgarr all boast tall, elaborately carved churches, the result of a combination of fine-grained, easily carved stone, time, and stonemasons whose skill is matched only by their religious devotion. The city of Victoria was so named to honor the British queen’s Diamond jubilee.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 9 Cruise: Gozo Valletta
ARRIVES 06:00 PM
DEPARTS 06:00 PM
The ancient city of Valletta is teeming with historic monuments, churches and gardens. At just one-third of a square mile in area, Europe's southernmost capital is one of the easiest to explore on foot. Given Malta's strategic location and succession of rulers including the Romans, Normans, Sicilians, Spanish, Knights of St. John, French and British, it’s somewhat surprising to see Valletta so well preserved. The city dates back to the 16th century and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980. Extensive restorations of historic buildings are underway, including the rebuilding of the city entrance to mark Valletta's recognition as the European Capital of Culture in 2018. Decades of British rule mean that English remains an official language, along with the local Maltese language, plus a curious mix of Italian vocabulary and Semitic roots. As Malta lies just 50 miles south of Sicily, Italian influences dominate the cuisine and culture. Even so, the Maltese do value their own traditions, such as the folk music known as Għana, which features strong yet poetic male vocals over slow guitar music.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 10 Cruise: Valletta Trapani
ARRIVES 10:00 AM
DEPARTS 06:00 PM
Bright stone buildings, Phoenician fortifications and centuries of monuments - these are just a few of Trapani's delights. The scythe-shaped town extends out to sea with Mount Erice towering above and the Tower of Ligny, a majestic landmark. Under Arab rule, Trapani was a thriving port for the production of salt, tuna, and coral. The city became famous in the 16th century for the beautiful pieces produced by Trapanese coral artisans. A lovely collection of their work can be seen in the Pepoli Museum.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 11 Cruise: Trapani La Goulette (Tunis), Tunisia
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 06:00 PM
La Goulette, the port city of Tunis, offers visitors a unique blend of history, culture, and seaside relaxation. Explore its impressive Kasbah, savor fresh seafood at local restaurants, and stroll along its charming marina. It's a perfect gateway to discover Tunisia's rich heritage and enjoy Mediterranean vibes.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 12 Cruise: Days at Sea
ARRIVES 12:00 AM
DEPARTS 11:59 PM
Enjoy a day at sea.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 13 Cruise: La Ciotat
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 05:00 PM
The charming harbor of La Ciotat is on the Cote d’Azur midway between Marseille and Toulon. It is in some ways archetypical of the Riviera. If one thinks of Cannes and St. Tropez in relation to cinema, then La Ciotat predates their notoriety, for it was here that the Lumière Brothers, summer residents, filmed the arrival of a locomotive at the local station in 1895, which became the first commercially displayed cinema in history. They filmed several other pioneer films here, and also created the first color photographs in La Ciotat. Not to be outdone, Jules Le Noir invented the quintessential Rivera boules game pétanque here in 1910. Learn all about it in the local Musée Ciotaden.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 14 Cruise: Rose
ARRIVES 08:00 AM
DEPARTS 05:00 PM
The port town of Rosas is as pretty as the flower for which it is named, set on a turquoise bay along Spain’s sunny Costa Brava. Ancient Greeks first settled here in the 4th century BC, followed by the Romans; the unique archaeological site of Empúries, about an hour’s drive from port, comprises dual cities where the two peoples peacefully co-existed for hundreds of years. Rosas’s former glory is still evinced in its 16th-century Trinitat Castle set above the harbor’s entrance and portions of Visigoth fortification walls. The city’s real appeal, however, are her beaches, with long stretches of fine golden sands and plenty of small, pebbly coves that are great for snorkeling. Life here today centers around the fishing port; check out its buzzy fish market for a taste of the local culture. Surrounding the town are plentiful vineyards and olive groves, best admired along numerous hiking trails through the Catalan countryside.
Overnight stay onboard Seabourn Ovation in a Verandah Suite.
Day 15 Cruise: Barcelona
ARRIVES 07:00 AM
Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is said to have been founded by the Phoenicians, and was once the rival of the powerful states of Venice and Genoa for control of the Mediterranean trade. Today, it is Spain's second largest city and has long rivaled, even surpassed Madrid in industry and commerce. The medieval atmosphere of the Gothic Quarter and the elegant boulevards combine to make the city one of Europe's most beautiful. Barcelona's active cultural life and heritage brought forth such greats as the architect Antonio Gaudi, the painter Joan Miro, and Pablo Picasso, who spent his formative years here.

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.
However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.
We found that many customers may prefer to:
- Travel on a specific airline of their choice
- Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
- Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
- Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
- Use their travel agent for this service
We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.
Should I take travel insurance?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.
