  2. When to go
  3. Requirements
  4. Don’t forget to compare
  5. Airline
  6. Stay without spending too much

Know where Tahiti is

The first question that comes in your mind is “Where is Tahiti?” Look in your Google maps and you’ll find it sitting with many islands somewhere in the Pacific. Tahiti is part of a group of islands that’s called French Polynesia, which is an overseas collectivity of France.

When to go

The Islands of Tahiti enjoy an even climate year-round with daytime temperature around 28-30°C, dropping slightly in the evening. The weather is warmer and more humid from November through to May and drier and cooler from June until October. Year round, the sun rises between 5am and 6am ans sets between 05.30pm and 7pm.

Requirements

Book your flights as early as possible and prepare all the necessary documents needed before heading to Tahiti. Passport must be valid for 180 days beyond your return date. Visitors from other country may need a visa (aside from your passport) and must check with the French Consulate for specific information before entry to French Polynesia.

Don’t forget to compare

We know that you are excited to choose that overwater bungalow but it is still best to compare the resorts to give you an idea which offers the best accommodation for your money. Checking out reviews from former guests will also help you know which hotels and restaurants provide the best services.

Airline

Air Tahiti Nui flies into Faa’a International Airport. From Australia, Air Tahiti Nui provides flights to Tahiti via Auckland, New Zealand.

Stay without spending too much

Even if you find Tahiti an expensive and luxurious destination, you can still find a way to dine cheaply. In Papeete, roulottes or food vans are available that offer fresh and affordable food. They cook variety of simple but delicious food like tuna, steak, pizza, pastries, coffee and more. Live music can often be heard somewhere as you walk across the road.
