After breakfast at the hotel, you will be meeting your guide and start your full day small group tour to the Chianti region- Montalcino, Montepulciano with Wine tasting and lunch.
Continuing along a scenic road, we have the opportunity to appreciate the picturesque village of Monteriggioni, a charming medieval gem still encircled by its ancient walls. Moving forward, we arrive at a region that presents a breathtaking contrast to the Crete territory - the lush Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO heritage site, boasting a harmonious landscape of rolling hills adorned with cypress trees. This enchanting scenery is dotted with castles, churches, ancient villages of Etruscan origin, and farms that follow the route of the famous "Via Francigena".
At a historic farm, a guided 2-course lunch-tasting will be served, featuring the renowned Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello, and Supertuscan wines. An extensive selection of local products, along with a delectable homemade fruit pie, will also be offered. Following this, guests will have the opportunity to explore the cellars and enjoy some leisure time.
We will then make a stop in the medieval village of Montalcino, which is graced with fortified walls adorned with towers and houses a magnificent 14th-century fortress, offering panoramic views of Val d'Orcia. Montalcino also boasts narrow streets lined with numerous wineries and artisan shops, showcasing locally-produced goods.
Lastly, after a short journey on a scenic road, we will reach Montepulciano, a hilltop town nestled between Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana, enclosed by protective walls. This town is renowned for its Noble wine, derived from the vineyards that surround it. You can take a leisurely stroll along the steep streets and elegant squares, admiring the splendid Renaissance buildings and churches. Furthermore, a visit to one of the many wine cellars in the old town will provide an opportunity to indulge in delightful wine tastings. We will then return to Florence.
