Day 1 Vancouver Williams Lake Nemiah Valley

Today, you will board a scheduled flight from Vancouver to Williams Lake. From Williams Lake, you will be met by a lodge representative for a transfer to the property.The route takes you across the Fraser River to the community of Tl’esqox. Together with a Cultural Ambassador, guests will visit the traditional fishing rocks of the Tsilhqot’in Nation at Farwell Canyon, where traditional dip net fishing for salmon occurs every year. Nearby rock pictograms tell the story of the Tsilhqot’in people and their arrival in this world from the Sky. After the tour, a lunch is provided featuring traditional foods like salmon, bannock, or venison. Guests then continue the journey to the lodge. Along the way, there is an opportunity to see the wild horses of Nemiah grazing in the grasslands of the Chilcotin Plateau.

Upon arrival at the lodge, settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner made with traditional First Nations elements. During dinner, meet with your Xeni guide to receive an overview of tomorrow’s activities. Afterwards, you will be treated to a Guest Orientation session and a Tŝilhqot’in welcome, including oral histories with a Cultural Ambassador.

Day 2 Nemiah Valley Lodge

After breakfast, guests will experience the healing power of horses with a licensed equine wellness practitioner and Xeni Gwet’in community member. This program fosters connection, healing, and the courage needed to face life’s challenges. Following this, saddle up for a riding lesson and enjoy a trail ride around Vedan Lake.

In the afternoon, visit a Traditional Village on the shores of beautiful Chilko Lake to learn about this important winter shelter. Along the way, watch for the wild horses of Nemiah, with photography stops as desired. Enjoy a picnic lunch, and weather permitting, kayak on Chilko Lake before returning to the lodge, with further opportunities to view the wild horses of Nemiah Valley. Arrive back at the lodge in the evening and enjoy some free time before dinner. All meals included.

Day 3 Nemiah Valley Lodge

After breakfast, hike or take a quad with your guide to either Cardiff Mountain, Konni Mountain Lookout, or around Vedan Lake. Guests will enjoy lunch (a packed lunch for Cardiff or Konni Mountain hikes, or lunch at the Lodge for the Vedan Lake hike). In the afternoon, you may choose to kayak, swim, or fish on Vedan Lake. After dinner, you can relax by the outdoor fire pit – singalongs are encouraged! All meals included.

Day 4 Nemiah Valley Lodge

Dive deeper into Xeni’s unique connection with horses and continue exploring the healing power of equine wellness, or choose to experience fly-fishing on a remote alpine lake with your guide for the day. Return to the lodge for dinner and an evening at leisure. All meals included.

Day 5 Nemiah Valley Williams Lake Vancouver

After breakfast check out of the lodge as your package comes to an end. Return to Williams Lake Airport in time for your included flight to Vancouver. Breakfast included.

Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

Travel on a specific airline of their choice
Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.
